Technique and Developmental Traits by Age
Ages 8-12
- Prioritize athleticism and body movement patterns. Focusing on movement, change direction and overall body weight strength
- Fundamentals and overall technique training. Building the foundation for athletes to further grow on as they get stronger.
- Basic knowledge of the game and understanding of rules.

Ages 13-14
- Continue to build on athleticism, adding weight training to the program.
- Fundamentals and advanced techniques needed for high school and college level abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of the game and understanding of rules.
- Teaching of mental skills needed for high school and college level play.
Fall 2024 RD2 Development Program
- Infield:

- Emphasize drop steps and proper positioning to get behind the ball.

- Concentrate on decision-making skills to improve game awareness.
- Refine fundamentals for lead-offs and rounding bases to maximize efficiency and speed.
- Fitness:
- Incorporate weekly track workouts to boost speed, acceleration, and change of direction.
- Focus on exercises that enhance overall athletic performance and agility.
